July Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Lynn here today, with the pretty pastel July Papermaze Kit. Such a lovely kit with double-sided papers, Bazzill cardstock and a selection of embellishments. I have created my first two layouts using the 49 and Market - 'From The Garden' papers included in the kit.

Before looking at how the layouts were made - here is a peek at what you will find in the kit.

49 and Market - From The Garden collection - Wildflower & Foxglove
49 and Market - Travel Diaries collection - Sheet 1
Graphic 45 - Always & Forever collection - Regency Blue Pattern & Solid Sheet
Uniquely Creative - Tea & Tranquillity collection - Quiet Daydreams & Garden Sanctuary

This photo shows both side of the papers:

Embellishments:
2 Petaloo Flowers
1 Craft Consortium Dragonflies
1 Dovecraft Frame
3 Rosie’s Studio Jubilee Wax Seals
3 Uniquely Creative Ticket Washi Tape Stickers
50cm Twine
1 Mintay Chipboard Clock

Bazzill Basics Cardstock
Lagoon, Twig (included in kit), Avalanche, Smoky, Petunia & Nixon (extra Bazzill pack)

Polly - Mary who was always known as 'Polly', her maiden name was Edwards, and her married name was Pond (Polly Pond). This is one of my husband's relatives, an interesting photo for the detail including her rather large wrist watch.

The base of this layout is the
Twig Bazzill with torn strips of both sides of Wildflower paper, to both sides of the page. I mounted the photo onto another piece cut from the scraps of the Wildflower paper.

With the title letters cut from some chipboard and the Mintay clock face from the kit,
(cut in two pieces), I set about dry embossing everything with copper embossing powder. I also cut the title letters from Nixon Bazzill. The letters were cut using a Tim Holtz - Sizzix Bigz XL Die - Wonderland.

I created three different sized tags using the Tim Holtz, Sizzix Thinlits - Tag collection die set. I cut these from more of the Wildflower paper.

I selected some Laser Cut Elements from the
49 and Market - From The Garden collection. This included a wooden hanging sign, which I made into a date plaque - cutting the numbers on my Cricut using Petunia & Nixon Bazzill.

I inked the edges of my cut shapes and elements, using Gathered Twigs Distress ink. I used some green seam binding ribbon to tie at the tops of the tags.

I selected the
Uniquely Creative Ticket Washi Tape Stickers from the kit. All the elements, papers photo, tags etc were arranged on the page then help in place with either glue or 3D foam pads.

Journalling was added to the larger tag. Finally, I placed the
Petaloo Flowers and leaf to the top left of the photo.

Feeding the Ducks - This cute picture of the triplets, was an ideal match for the pretty colours in these papers. The layout is a scrap lift of my own work - a page I made a few weeks ago. (included at the bottom of this post).

This time, I used the smooth side of the
Avalanche Bazzill for the base. I chose the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil THS077, and a selection of Distress Oxide Inks. With brushes I applied colour through the stencil, then lightly spritzed the page with water to allow the ink to wick slightly. I also splattered some of the wet ink over the page.

I tore pieces from the
Foxglove paper, selecting areas from the paper I wanted to feature. I layered these up on the page (see photos), together with pieces cut from the Nixon Bazzill.

The photo was mounted on more of the Foxglove paper. The above was all arranged on the dry background card. I added two doilies, left over from a previous Papermaze kit.

I created a title on the Cricut, and cut it twice - with Nixon Bazzill and Foxglove paper scraps. These were mounted over one another to create a shadow, and arranged down the centre of the layout.

The little dragonfly charm was tied to the paper beneath the photo using twine (both from the kit). My journalling was added to a tag, also made from the Foxglove paper.

I selected the three flag banners from the 49 and Market 'From The Garden' Laser Cut Elements pack, and strung them along the top of the layout. To the right side of the layout, I added one of the
Rosie’s Studio Jubilee Wax Seals from the kit and another laser cut element.

Three clusters of paper flowers were created using blossoms from my stash. Finally, I dotted some Raspberry Pink Nuvo Crystals Drops over the layout.

Here is my original layout, showing my daughter as St Valentine at a flower festival (LARP event). The papers are from my stash and the Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Sand and Sea - Rest & Relax paper.

That's all for today, back with more from this kit soon.
Thanks for looking.

May Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Hello, It's Lynn here today with the May Papermaze kit (a little later than usual due to holidays). The kit this month is full of brightly coloured patterned papers and cardstock - great fun! I have used mine to make four layouts of my children's activities back in the 1990's. The photo below shows the first two of these layouts.

Before looking at how the layouts were made, here is what you will find in the kit.

Patterned Papers:
49 and Market - Vicki Boutin - Artful Moments - Starters Paper #2 & #9
Simple Stories - Colour Me Happy - Okie Dokie & The Details
Simple Stories - Say Cheese Happiest Place - Adventure
Simple Stories - Take Note - My Favourite Things

The image below, shows both sides of the patterned papers.

Embellishments:
Doodlebug doilies - cupcake & mint, Pretty Little Studio - sunkissed word titles, Pebbles - Sun & Fun puffy dots, Jen Hadfield – Reaching Out – Rainbow Clip, P13 chipboard stars, Vicki Bouton – Bold & Bright puffy stickers, Rosie's Studio – Jubilee die cut sentiments, Studio Light Essentials washi tape

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Raven, African Daisy (included in kit), Ocean Oasis, Bazzill White, Berry Sensation & Intense Kiwi (extra pack).

Crazy Cozy Coupe - The children on their 3rd birthday, with the gift of a Little Tikes Cosy Coupe.

For this layout I chose the Starters Paper #2, and keeping the barcode strip at the bottom of the page, I trimmed the same side strip from the top of the paper instead - so I still have a 12" x 12" piece of paper.

I printed five small photos of the event, and arranged these across the base of the page - leaving room to tuck items under the photos in places. I purchased an extra sheet of paper from the same collection - Starters Paper #8, this one is made up of 24 colourful tags, I cut out nine tags in colours to match the paint strips on the background paper. I inked the edges in Black Soot Distress Ink, and added a Pebbles - Sun & Fun puffy dot to each tag (from the kit).

The tags were arranged across the layout above the photos, in the same colour order as the paper beneath. I added journalling, the Vicki Bouton Bold & Bright puffy stickers, and Rosie's Studio – Jubilee die cut sentiments (both included in the kit).

With my much loved, Spellbinders Dies Say Cheese Classic Mouse - Classic Mouse Alphabet set, I cut the title and the #3 from Raven Bazzill, and some scraps of glossy photo paper. These were layered up to make shiny letters with black shadows. Finally, I outlined the letters, tags and stickers with a black marker pen.

Artists at Work - The children playing with paint, paper and easels in the garden.

I built the background of this layout, using Bazzill Basics Cardstock in Raven and Bazzill White. I gutted the white so I had a 1" deep 12"x 12" frame and a piece 10" x 10", I trimmed the black to 11" x 11" and gutted it to make another 1" frame. These were then built up to create the background as seen in the photos.

I mounted two landscape photos 4.5" x 3.5" onto a piece of white card, trimmed to make a very narrow border. This was then mounted onto the
Ocean Oasis Bazzill, and then again onto a piece of  The Details paper. This was placed to the left side of the layout.

I used the Starters Paper #9 in several different ways, first of all I cut eight banners from the rays of colours. These were roughly 3.5" long and as wide as printed. I inked the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink and arranged them in rainbow colour order to the right side of the photos.

The other way I used the paper, was to stamp on, to make the colour palates and brushes etc.
I used Clear Stamps by Eileen Hull Swatch Cards and stamped the images on the white grid part of the paper. I cut these out and then stamped onto the coloured part of the paper to produce the paint colours. These were cut out and placed over the corresponding areas on the swatch cards. I also stamped the brush tips onto the coloured areas, and added them to the brushes.

I used some of the washi tape from the kit and chose the word ' Creativity' and ran this between the photos and the coloured banners. Then I arranged all the stamped images I made.

Finally, I used scraps of  Raven Bazzill, and die cut letters and numbers for the date and title. These were positioned over the coloured banners.

That's all for today, back with more from this kit soon.
Thanks for looking.

October Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Lynn here today, sharing two more layouts created using the October Papermaze Kit. Two recent events, but very different themes and styles this time.

Before looking at how the layouts are made, here is what you will find in the kit.

Patterned papers:
49 and Market - Botanical Buzz collection - Cheerful & Fresh
49 and Market - Nature's Haven collection - Sunshine
Memory Place - Pet Life collection - Pure Love 03 & Today 05
Echo Park - Winnie The Pooh Baby collection - Oh Baby Daises

The photo below, shows both sides of the papers:

Embellishments:
Simple Stories - Meadow Flowers foam stickers, Little Birdie flower, American Crafts butterfly clip, Krafty Kids - wooden buttons, Leane Creatief - brads, 49 and Market - willow frames, Pinkfresh Studio - glitter drops leaf and Echo Park - washi tape.

Bazzill Basics Cardstock:
Lagoon, Peach Creme (included in kit), and Marmalade Blast, Sunbeam, Walnut and Patch (in extra pack).

Remy - This is My Story - My daughter dressed for a recent Larp event.

The first task for this layout was to build the background, I used a scrap sheet of 12" x 12" paper, which I covered with papers from the kit. The top of the page is a piece of Memory Place - Pet Life collection - Pure Love 03 cut to 8" x 12". Under this I placed a 4" x 12" piece of Today 05 paper from the same collection. I cut a strip of trellis 0.5" x 12" from the same paper, I placed this where the papers meet, to complete the frame around the piece.

With a 12" length of lace, I trimmed the join between papers.

I fussy cut flowers from the other side of the Pure Love 03 paper, these were mounted to the right of the join.

My journalling was printed onto scraps of the Today 05 paper. The photos and journalling were mounted onto some scraps of Bazzill from my stash to match the pink in the outfit. There were arranged across the top part of the layout.

Before the sticking things down, I made six small tags from scraps of papers already used. I also cut some strips of the white wood panel from the Today 05 paper. All these elements with the photos and journalling were arranged and stuck in place. I threaded some twine through the tag holes, and looped this in place with a few dabs of glue.

I added the Little Birdie flower, to the fussy cut arrangement. The Krafty Kids - wooden buttons were added to the page, together with two foam stickers from the Simple Stories - The Little Things collection.

Playtime - My little granddaughter, playing on the slide in the local park.

I retrieved the frame I cut by gutting the 49 and Market - Nature's Haven collection - Sunshine paper from an earlier layout. I backfilled this with strips of torn cardstock. I selected Powder Blue Bazzill for the sky and Patch Bazzill for the grass.

I used some scrap white card to cut tiny clouds and punch little daisies, to scatter over the sky and grass. The centre of each daisy is a blob of Nuvo Crystal Drops - Dandelion Yellow.

I printed five small photos, three of these were frames with the
49 and Market - willow frames included in the kit. Two photos were mounted onto Echo Park - Winnie The Pooh Baby collection - Oh Baby Daises paper.

The photos were mounted side by side across the layout. I used small pieces of the washi tape and the AC
butterfly clip to embellish the photos.

My title was cut with
Spellbinders - Simple Stories - Say Cheese - Classic Mouse Alphabet. and more of the Oh Baby Daisies paper, with Patch Bazzill used for the shadows.

The characters and phrase embellishments are from a sheet of Simple Stories - Say Cheese Classic Pooh Cardstock Stickers.

The date was placed at the base of the layout using Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup Stickers in Bumblebee.

That's all for the October kit, I'll be back with the November kit soon.
Thanks for looking.
