Dress up your storage......with Stamperia

Hello again, 

Anita here with you today to start off this week.

          My scrapping mojo appears to be on holiday at the moment 

and I was wracking my brains as to what I could create for this post.

 I have some absolutely beautiful papers in my DT kit, from a fairly new company to Papermaze, called Stamperia and I really loved the look of a sheet called Peony and Laces.......it was this sheet that inspired this project.

I bought this wooden trough a couple of weeks ago from a Pound Shop and it has sat empty on my kitchen table ever since. When I looked at the sheet of Peony and Laces it made me think of my ever growing collection of laces, ribbons and trims that I have stuffed into plastic boxes in my craft room....my favourites are my vintagey cream and vanilla trims and I decided they needed a pretty new home!

 

I covered one side of the trough with a panel cut from the sheet of Peony and Laces and the other side
was cut from the sheet of Peony and Letters. The left overs were used to cover the ends of the trough.

I gently inked around all of the edges of the trough using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs to give it a slightly distress, aged look. And then picked one of my favourite trims and stuck it all the way round the top edges, allowing it to drape over the sides.

One of my other favourite embellishments is Blossoms, especially paper ones. I had a couple of lovely ones in my kit and also had a rummage in my own stash for a few more, along with some die cut Bazzill cardstock leaves. There is a super selection of Blossoms here in the shop to look at.

I also used a wooden word saying LOVELY which I inked with Bronze and Gold inkpads and made the word TRIMS using some metallic chipboard letters from my own stash. There is a vast selection of Alphabets in every colour and material HERE in the shop.
I then just added a few flat backed pearls to finish off the decorating....... and piled the trough up with all my lovely trims...they look much nicer in there than stuck inside a plastic box that's for sure!

These troughs look lovely when decorated and could be used for all different things....as gift baskets on a theme, as storage around your own home....anything! And when there are such beautiful papers about like the Stamperia Range, what is stopping you?

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy with Bo Bunny's Summer Mood

Hello, Karen here with another project using Bo Bunny's Summer Mood collection.

Some of the patterned papers in the collection have lemons printed on them which inspired me to scrapbook some photos of my daughter taken when she was making lemonade.

I started with a sheet of 12" x 12" white Bazzill cardstock and using a dry foam brush I roughly  painted a square in the middle with some yellow acrylic paint. Once the paint had dried I trimmed a quarter of an inch off of each side of the page and matted this onto a 12" x 12" sheet of black cardstock. Using my sewing machine I stitched round the edges using black thread.

I matted my two photos on white cardstock and then layered several pieces of the patterned paper behind and also a white paper doilie and a die cut frame from Pink Fresh Studio.

Lemon slices  from the Combo Sticker Sheet and a few extra slices, fussy cut from the patterned paper, were tucked behind the layers. A phrase sticker  from the sticker sheet was used to embellish the frame.

I made a shaker box (lemon slice) from some of the 'Lets Go' paper and a scrap of acetate which was filled with some yellow and gold sequins. The shaker box and my title, which I die cut from yellow cardstock, were stuck beneath the photos with the title raised on 3D foam dots.

I had received some pink wooden buttons in a previous DT kit but had been unable to use them, so I decided to try painting them yellow to use on this layout. The acrylic paint I used on them took really well and transformed them into the perfect embellishments for this layout.

My journalling strips were printed on the computer and stuck to the bottom  of the page. I decided to outline the journalling strips and other elements with a black fine liner pen to add some definition.

The layout was completed with a scattering of yellow and gold sequins, some enamel dots and a couple of torn pieces of paper were stuck to the top and bottom edges.

The Kiss with Echo Park's Just Married

Hi Tracee with you today, I'm back with the second layout I have created using the Just Married collection by Echo Park.

My best friend got married in June so I am creating a few pages for her to remember her day. This is a beautiful collection to use, very soft and pretty.

I fussy cut lots of the blossoms from the 'Love Flourishes' sheet and scattered them around the bottom half of the page. I also fussy cut the photo as there were some inconvenient heads right between   them both, I often do this to a photo to eliminate unwanted background distractions.

I added a doily behind the photo for some texture and to me doily's say weddings. I love the 'Our Story' sheet with lots of cute frames and sayings to cut out, I used one of them to create some journaling on the page.

I mixed some of the patterned paper as layers on my page and the coordinating sticker sheet has some pretty elements too. I used the pinked edge love circle to e left and the Mr & Mrs word sticker from that sheet.

July Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Hello, Lynn back with more layouts from the July Papermaze Kit. I have created two more layouts, using the exclusive stencil included in the kit. The first two pages I created with this kit can be found here.

The first page features a photo of my daughter and her fiancé George, on a recent holiday to Paris.

To make the layout I used the Splash Bazzill as a base, and then cut the Panelling paper into strips along the darker lines. I distressed the edges and inked them with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. Then I rearranged them and stuck them to the cardstock.

Using the chevron stencil I lightly inked the pattern onto the panels with the Hickory Smoke ink.

I die cut stars and a tag from white Bazzill and inked the edges. The mat for the photo was cut from the Sand Dollars paper. A quote was added to the tag, this was cut from the manufacturer's strip on the bottom of the Wandering Ivy paper. I added some twine from my stash.
 

The chipboard word circle was inked with Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink to match the twine. The title was cut from scraps of Typhoon cardstock (see below*). Both the circle and the title were coated with Diamond glaze to give it a shine.

The arrow clip was stuck to the top of the photo. Finally I added some gems from my stash.

The second layout was created with a photo of my brother with the books he has written and had published. The photo was taken in preparation for the next publication and the 'About the Author' page. 

I trimmed the Rain cardstock down to 11.5" x 11.5" then with Stormy Sky Distress Ink and the stencil I worked my way round the edges of the cardstock, varying the depth of the image as I went.

This was then mounted onto a gutted sheet of Typhoon*cardstock. From the leftover patterned papers I cut lots of strips about 1.5cm x 13.5 cm, some of these were cut in to arrows, all were inked with the Stormy Sky ink. I then die cut additional arrows with the Little B arrow die set. Together with two strips of Washi Tape from the kit I arranged these down the centre of the page. 

The photo was mounted onto a scrap of Boogieboard cardstock and placed it near the top left of the layout. My title was created with some letter stickers from my stash. 

Finally I used the Pretty Little Studio leaf die-cuts to create clusters in two corners and added the wooden arrow too.

First time for everything...

After a few months off of scrapbooking I am back and with something different ( for me at least )
I have messed around with Travelers Notebooks before. I loved it but...the sizes always got to me. As much as I enjoyed it I didn't like the really small small size.
But while at Papermaze the other day ( and hunting through things ...I like to hunt through the boxes as they come through the door!!!! so much fun ) I came across these journals and was surprised to see they were bigger.
AND inside of one of them is a squared notebook...I have a bullet journal that is squared as well and love that so these were perfect!

I wondered about what to use them for...and in the end I decided to just go with it and see what I fancied making. I really love just messing about sometimes with paper to make pretty things and not have to worry about where the title and journaling will go..So I just opened it and added what I wanted to on that day...very freeing!

So...here is my first page of my first journal. I used the line from Simple Stories called Hello summer for this months work!

I decided to mess about and do a page about our holiday±

I made a washing line across the page and hung up some squares of paper that I cut out. The sticker sheet that goes with this collection has some fantastic stickers on it!

I cut out woodgrain paper that comes with the paper line to make little pegs to hang them on and little hearts just to decorate.

The journaling parts were tucked underneath the other side of the page so they could be lifted up to add some journalling after we had been away!

If you have not tried this size to use you should. They are so much fun to do!!!!

Scrapbooking with Lots of Photos

Hi, it's Lisa here today with fun and colourful scrapbooking.

I've chosen this American Crafts collection by Amy Tangerine to work with called 'Hustle and Heart'. You can view it all here.

It's everything that I love in a collection. Bright, happy, fun and easy to use.

I wanted to use a few photos, but I didn't want the page to look cluttered, I still wanted some kind of design.

 

 

I stuck these strips of papers down but left the top part adhesive free so that I could slide my photos in treating the paper strips as pockets.

 

 

I had so much fun with these papers as you can see.

 

I also used this stencil here as a template using a black pen to draw around and cut out to use as embellishments.

 

I had so much fun creating this. Bright papers really make me happy.

Is 50 too old for Unicorns?..... with Stamperia.

Hi There

It's Anita here with you today and I have a layout to share using a brand new manufacturer to Papermaze, called Stamperia! The shop stocks a good selection of their papers and they cover various themes. The papers themselves are super quality, nice and thick and the colour ways are beautiful.

I chose to use some photos from my 50th Birthday (earlier this year) when my lovely daughter and sister joined forces and made me a luscious rich chocolate layer cake and a fabulous, huge well fed unicorn ( made from fimo!)

 I had a sheet of light cream cardstock in my kit that I wanted to use to base the layout back onto, but needed it to blend in, so I used 2 Distress Oxide Ink pads : Peacock Feather and Seedless Preserves and applied them using some cellophane packaging and a water mister.

I also used the same colours and technique on the sheet of Wonderland Unicorn that the layout is created on. Where some of the patches were particularly wet, I blew hard and created the runs down the page.
Using some white acrylic paint I dry brushed around each photograph to create a soft matt and also around the entire edge of the layout.

I had some Prima Blossoms in my kit and I wanted to make them work with the page, so I used the same inks on these, gently patting a bit of each colour on and then misting with the water spray again to help blend the colours.

 I had bought a 2nd sheet of Wonderland Unicorn and so cut out the 2nd Unicorn and layered it on the original page using some foam pads for dimension, then gave the wings, mane and tail some magical sparkle using some Stickles.

 I also had some lovely cotton lace in my kit, this took some of the ink really well and stained it to co-ordinate with the rest of the page.

I tore a slice out of the paper on the right hand side and rolled each section back, to reveal some of the inking underneath. Then used some irridescant, sparkly thread to stitch criss crosses along the length of it.

I cut a floral section from the back of a sheet of Wonderland Dragonfly and used a couple of other scraps of left overs and layered them up behind the photos along with a couple of small plastic doily embellishments.
The title was made using various alphabet stickers, including Simple Stories Snap Studio, Martha Stewart and AC Thickers.
I used a few different paper blossoms and lots of flat backed AB crystals scattered about ( because you can never have too much magical sparkles can you??)
