Hi Everyone,
Claire back here with you today and I'm very excited to be sharing my first March layout. This month I am using a collection called Forest Tea Party from P13 Paper Products.
This brand is new to Papermaze and I am absolutely loving creating with it! There are a few P13 collections new in to the shop and each one is unique. The collection of papers, embellishments, chipboard and stickers are absolutely beautiful, consisting of some really pretty colour combinations, designs and patterns with lots of possibilities for fussy cutting which I love.
For this layout, I'm super proud to say I scrapped a picture on the day it was taken! Highly unusual for me.
I started with a piece of Bazzill white cardstock from the Matchmaker Pack. I trimmed about half an inch from each side and distressed the edges before running it through my sewing machine with gold thread. Once the stitching was complete, I mounted it on to a sheet of the Forest Tea Party Paper 06.
This is a really beautiful soft pink paper with a very feint white script pattern. To be honest, I really didn't want to cut into it - it's one of those you want to look at lovingly and save forever, but it gave my page such a lovely frame - needless to say I gutted it, so luckily I still have a sizable piece left.
Next, I took a piece of Paper 01, which has a woodgrain pattern on it. I used this as my anchor, cutting a piece of about 9.5" x 5.5" as my base layer. Again I distressed the edges and added machine stitching.
To the left had side, I cut two strips of patterned paper from Paper 03, using the A and B sides, layering these with foam pads.
I double mounted my photo using Bazzill cardstock in Rain Forest from the Matchmaker Pack and a beautiful soft blue polka dot pattern paper from Paper 02.
Next, I whipped out some sharp scissors and started fussy cutting! I've found I am doing this more and more lately. There are so many fabulous opportunities to get more mileage from these gorgeous papers, and so many beautiful elements you can include to suit your design.
To the vertical paper strips, I added two fussy cut leaves from Paper 07 which is the perfect cut apart paper.
